"Creating together" - our mission is more than just lip service. If only because collaboration within a company requires a solid concept. Within our large locations such as Waldenburg, Berlin or Munich, it is really just a question of organization to come together. But what about the many colleagues working from home? Spontaneous meetings for the development of a new idea are hardly possible or only possible with a certain lead time and coordination. At Würth Elektronik eiSos, we have therefore come up with a new concept - "MiniHubs". These are small locations that offer employees away from our large sites and sales representatives easy access to a flexible office, meeting and conference rooms.
The first MiniHub was opened in Bochum at the beginning of February 2024. We use the G DATA Startup Center G'85 there. G DATA was one of the first start-ups in Bochum and has retained the spirit of a young company despite its size. Our neighbors there are mainly start-ups, but as Jessika Lüning, responsible for public affairs and location marketing at G DATA, put it so well: "Würth Elektronik is of course anything but a start-up. However, this does not mean that the company is not welcome on our campus. On the contrary: Würth Elektronik promotes start-ups itself. This may lead to interesting new contacts here in Bochum."
The new mini-hub concept was developed by our New Work focus group. It focuses on people and their work experiences, the basis for our company's success. For example, the group concentrates on the areas of work framework, collaboration, development, culture and leadership.
At the opening, Jan-Eric Scholten, Head of People and Organization at Würth Elektronik eiSos, described the project as a new working and meeting place for employees, cooperation partners, customers and interested parties from the region. Speaking of cooperation partners: technology partnerships and promoting young talent have always been very important to us. That's another reason why it was great that the motor sports team from Ruhr University Bochum, which is supported by Würth Elektronik, brought its Formula Student racing car to the MiniHub opening.
Of course, we are now also specifically looking for new colleagues in the Ruhr region.
We are excited to see how the MiniHub develops. Options for a further location are already being examined.
