The word ‘distribution’ has many meanings:

• the action or process of supplying goods to stores and other businesses that sell to consumers.

When reflecting on the actual meaning of distribution, it really brings to light to the true value of Distribution within our industry - sharing. Distributors within the electronic component industry are a “one stop shop” for supplier’s product sourcing for our customers. They bring value to the customer by suppling and stocking products from various manufacturers in one place. They bring value to us as suppliers with their mass customer reach. Distributors within our industry have a global presence which is essential to Würth Elektronik and allows for our new products to be introduced to the market in all areas around the world. By quickly and efficiently ensuring stock is always readily available for the customer when they need it, distribution is always there. Not only are distributors a source for buying products, but also a resource for educating the customers on the products they are purchasing. This industry is constantly evolving and distribution is helping us, as suppliers, evolve with it.

As a manufacturer of electronic and electromechanical components, it is essential that we have distribution partners. The values mentioned above spotlight how and why we partner with our distributors. Yes, we are a company that is globally available and locally present, but having distribution partners helps us to bring brand awareness to customers where we might not actually be physically present. They also help us to “seed” the market by introducing our new products to consumers and utilize resources to push our products quickly and efficiently into the marketplace, which in-turn influences design in wins for us. The distributors are helping us grow not only as a company, but as an industry overall.

Our company, distribution, and the industry are not the only things growing! The Distribution team within Würth Elektronik has been one of the fastest growing departments within the company. Our team consists of 16 fast and reactive individuals whom are available globally. We strive every day provide our partners with high level service, new product introductions and product content to help grow our company and theirs. We trust in our relationship with our distribution partners and with this trust, I believe has allowed us to grow the company, our team and our business together!
