Roland Kratz was born in Germany 1970.

He received his degree in engineering in 1999 from the University of Applied Science in Frankfurt/Main. After studying, he worked at Hameg Instruments making precision laboratory power supplies (e.g. 1 to 4 output quadrants with arbitrary modes) until end of 2006.

From 2007 to 2012 he was the CEO of the KIIRA GmbH and developed precision laboratory power supplies and calibration units.

The decision was made in 2012 to join the newly founded semiconductor branch of Wurth Elektronik eiSos – MagI3C Power Modules – as a senior project manager and product manager.

Starting in 2014 he added customer and application support to his responsibilities as senior application manager. Aside from the development of new products, customer support and education, authoring of application notes and conduction of production audits, he was an associate professor at the University of Heilbronn/Germany, wrote IEEE papers and developed numerous inventions concerning power modules.
