#askLorandt explains: What miniaturization means for MLCCs and what alternatives are possible

The market trend of downsizing and correlating terminations force developers to miniaturize the designs used and to move customers towards 0402,0201 or even smaller.

However, this miniaturization has not only advantages. Especially the electrical behaviour influenced by the chip size. An alternative to solve challenges of this trend offers the so-called H-chip aluminum polymer capacitor. These caps has no voltage-dependent capacitance and is stable against temperature. Likewise, the H-chip can save space on the circuit board and gain integration density.

More details about H-Chip.
