Beschreibung

The ADP5090 is an integrated boost regulator that converts dcpower from PV cells or thermoelectric generators (TEGs).Thedevice charges storage elements such as batteries and capacitors, and powers up small electronic devices and battery-free systems.The ADP5090 provides efficient conversion of the harvestedlimited power-down to a 10μW to 1mW range with sub-μWoperation losses. With the internal cold-start circuit, theregulator is able to start operating at input voltage as low as380 mV. Once started, the regulator is functional in the inputvoltage range from 100 mV to 3 V.By sensing the voltage at the input pin, the control loop keepsthe VIN voltage ripple in fixed range to maintain stable dc-todcconversion. In addition, VIN open circuit voltage (OCV)sensing and programmable regulation points of the inputvoltage allow extraction of the highest possible energy from the PV cell or TEG harvester. A programmable minimum OCVthreshold down to 100 mV enables boost shutdown during lowlight conditions.The charging control function of ADP5090 includesrechargeable energy storage protection and is achieved bymonitoring the battery voltage with programmable chargingtermination voltage and shutdown discharging voltage.An optional primary cell battery can be connected andmanaged by an integrated power path management controlblock that automatically switches the power source from energy harvester, rechargeable battery, or primary cell battery.The ADP5090 is available in a 16-lead LFCSP or TSSOP-16-EP package and is rated for a −40°C to +125°C junction temperature range.
