Demonstration circuit 2348A is a high power highefficiency bi-directional synchronous buck or boostconverter featuring the LTC®3871 and is available in twoversions. The DC2348A-A operates with two each LTC3871devices with four phases and the DC2348A-B utilizes oneLTC3871 device with two phases.When operating in buck mode, this demo circuit has aninput voltage range of 30V to 75V and produces a 12Voutput. When operating in boost mode, the input voltageis from 10V to 13V and produces a 48V output voltage.Both boards have a switch that allows the converter torun in either buck or boost mode. A DC voltage sourcecan be connected to the SETCUR turret to set the averageinductor current in each phase of the converter. Both boardsalso utilize a mode jumper to select forced continuousconduction mode, buck-mode only pulse-skipping or fullpulse-skipping mode for buck and boost.L, LT, LTC, LTM, Linear Technology, PolyPhase and the Linear logo are registered trademarksof Linear Technology Corporation.
