USB-C

STILL 24 REASONS TO CONNECT WITH US

From December 28, 2024, all mobile phones, tablets and cameras sold in the EU must be equipped with a USB-C charging port - from spring 2026, this will also apply to laptops. This new EU requirement aims to reduce electronic waste and make electrical appliances more sustainable.

We support you in preparing your applications for these requirements. Our wide product range for USB-C includes connectors, EMC filter components, ESD surge protection as well as AC/DC and DC/DC converters to simplify your design-in and meet all legal requirements.

USB-C becomes mandatory charging standard in the EU

At the end of 2024, the proliferation of chargers for small electronic devices will come to an end. The EU is making USB-C connectors and the USB Power Delivery standard mandatory. The European Parliament had already adopted this in October 2022 as an amendment to the Radio Equipment Directive and then passed it on to the member states for implementation into national law.

    Application Guide

From the application to the right component. With the help of clear and deliberately simple schematic representations, the user very quickly gets an overview of the structure of the application and the appropriate product range.

Simply select the topology or industry and off you go.

Effective USB 3.1 filtering and protection

This Application Note outlines the components needed to protect USB 3.1 devices and attenuate EMI that may cause the device to fail EMC testing. This will be demonstrated in USB Type-C dongle to characterize the effectiveness of the components.

Production guide USB 3.1 Type C

USB-C now offers different connector variants ranging from USB 2.0 in Type-C housing to Type-C for a 10 GBit data rate. The housing variants have also become more diverse. All these types have their special characteristics, which in many cases may already have to be taken into account in the layout. We would like to shed light on these points and identify ways of dealing with the challenges...

    AskLorandt

I am application engineer for EMI situation and power converter design for industrial- and automotive electronic applications. I am the company spokesperson for EMC seminars and held over the world, since 2005, approx. 500 seminars to design engineers, giving training to easy understanding the EMC problems at board level.

Here I talk about the essential design consideration with USB C.

  • Technical book in a vertical position about inductances

    Reference Guide Trilogy of Magnetics

To bring inductive components closer to customers and users with their properties and applications in a practical way and without ballast - that is and remains the claim of the technical book ; “Trilogy of Inductive Components";. First published in year 2000, the book is now a standard work in many development departments and universities and has been sold over 30,000 times.

  • Technical book in horizontal orientation with black cover about connectors

    Reference Guide Trilogy of Connectors

Application manual for optimized connector selection. It covers the basics, contact design & connection technology and applications.
