Demonstration circuit 2291A is a high current, high efficiency,PolyPhase® synchronous buck converter featuringthe LTC®3882EUJ, a dual output voltage mode controller.This demo board incorporates two LTC3882 controllerswhich provide four phases to deliver up to 140A. The defaultoutput voltage is 1V and can be adjusted from 0.5Vto 2V. The LTC3882 has the PMBus interface and digitalpower system management functions.The DC2291A powers up to default settings and producespower based on configuration resistors or withits nonvolatile memory without the need for any serialbus communication. This allows easy evaluation of theDC/DC converter. To fully explore the extensive powersystem management features of the parts, download the GUI software LTpowerPlay™ onto your PC and useLTC’s I2C/SMBus/PMBus Dongle DC1613A to connect tothe board. LTpowerPlay allows the user to reconfigurethe part on-the-fly and store the configuration settingswithin its onboard EEPROM, along with viewing telemetryparameters that include voltage, current, temperatureand fault status.
