The ETA8047 is a high performance peak current mode PWM controller. The ETA8047 uses quasi-resonant and frequency foldback techniques to reduce EMI and improve average efficiency, and to meet the latest level VI energy efficiency standards with sufficient margin. Through the optocoupler and secondary side control circuit, a very low standby power consumption, good dynamic response and precise voltage regulation are achieved. With the built-in quick startup procedure, the ETA8047 can achieve very short rise times even with large capacitive loads. The soft-start circuit keeps the output voltage free from overshoot at power-up. Under full load conditions, ETA8047 can work in CCM mode and DCM mode to meet different types of applications. The quasi-resonant (QR) valley technique always works in DCM mode. The ETA8047 has a 7 -37V wide VCC operating voltage range and can be used directly in a Class A Quick Charge solution. The ETA8047 integrates comprehensive protection. When over temperature, input/output overvoltage, winding short-circuit, short-circuit of current sensing resistor, open-loop, output short-circuit, overload, overcurrent, etc., the fault condition is detected to enter the auto-restart hiccup mode. When the fault is removed, it will automatically resume normal operation. The cycle-by-cycle current limit ensures safe operation even during failure modes and recovery. The ETA8047 is suitable for applications up to 50 watts. The ETA8047 is available in a SOT23-6 package.
