This reference design is a temperature sensingsolution for IGBT thermal protection in hybrid electricvehicle and electric vehicle (HEV and EV) tractioninvertersystems. The solution monitors the IGBTtemperature through the NTC thermistor that isintegrated inside of the IGBT module and providesthermal shutdown to the IGBT gate drivers once theNTC thermistor temperature rises above theprogrammed threshold. The design includes the IGBTisolated gate drivers, NTC signal conditioning, I2Cinterface and isolation, and a load resistor that enablesthe system to run independently under high powerratings
