Characteristics
LVDS technology (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) uses differential data transmission with a serial communication protocol. The differential concept has a great advantage over single-ended systems yet it is much more robust against interferences. The interface has a low power consumption and can be transmitted via a twisted pair cable with a very high data rate.
LVDS systems are used in applications such as HD displays, infotainment systems, industrial cameras, and transmission of large amounts of data.
