TECHNOLOGY PRESS-FIT
REDCUBE PRESS-FIT terminals are ideal for high-power connections in automotive PCBs, generating minimal heat and creating strong, reliable connections by pressing pins into the PCB. This process ensures a friction-based cold-welded connection with very low contact resistance, capable of handling currents up to 250 A with minimal self-heating. These terminals are significantly more reliable long-term than surface-mount technology (SMT), supporting considerable mechanical stress and ensuring robust electrical and mechanical connections.
Press-fit technology offers several advantages over soldering, particularly for thick circuit boards with heavy copper plating, allowing for compact module designs with two-sided mounting. The press-fit process ensures consistent contact between the pin and the copper layer, providing better reliability and stability than soldering. REDCUBE PRESS-FIT connectors, made from RoHS-compliant CuZn39Pb3 material, can be press-fitted simultaneously without subjecting the circuit boards to thermal stress.

PRESS-FIT Process
Pressing the pins into the PCB, a high friction between pin and plated through-hole generates a homogeneous cold-welding between materials. No other technology transfers power up to 250 A at this low heat development.
