Demonstration circuit 2174A is a high current, high efficiency, dual-phase synchronous buck converter featuring the LTC®3882EUJ, a dual output voltage mode controller.The LTC3882 has the PMBus interface and power systemmanagement functions.There are two versions of the boards available:nn DC2174A-A: dual-phase dual-output configuration. Default output setting VOUT0 = 1.5V/35A, VOUT1 = 1.0V/35Ann DC2174A-B: dual-phase single-output configuration. Default output setting VOUT0 = 1.0V/70AThe DC2174A powers up to default settings and produces power based on configuration resistors or with its non-volatile memory without the need for any serial bus communication. This allows easy evaluation of theDC-DC converter. To fully explore the extensive power system management features of the parts, download the GUI software LTpowerPlay™ onto your PC and use LTC’s I2C/SMBus/PMBus Dongle, DC1613A, to connect to theboard. LTpowerPlay allows the user to reconfigure the part on the fly and store the configuration settings within its onboard EEPROM, along with viewing telemetry parameters that include voltage, current, temperature and fault status.
