Description

Demonstration circuit 2155A is available in two configurations.The DC2155A-A is a dual output synchronousstep-down converter featuring the LTC®3886IUKG, adual-phase current mode controller. The DC2155A-B isa single output synchronous step-down converter thatoperates with four phases: two from the LTC3886IUKGand two from LTC3870EUFD, a phase extender. Both versionshave a PMBus interface and digital power systemmanagement functions.The DC2155A uses discrete MOSFETs in the power stage.The input range of this board is from 18V to 54V. Theoutput voltage can be programmed from 5V to 12V with anoutput current of up to 12A per phase. For the DC2155A-Aversion, the factory default setting for the CH0 output is12V, CH1 output is 5V. In addition, this demo board hasan on-board dynamic load circuit, which makes it easy toevaluate the transient performances.The DC2155A powers up to default settings and producespower based on configuration resistors or its program fileloaded within its onboard EEPROM without the need forL, LT, LTC, LTM, Linear Technology and the Linear logo are registered trademarks andLTpowerPlay is a trademark of Linear Technology Corporation. To fullyexplore the extensive power system management featuresof the parts, download the GUI software LTpowerPlay™onto your PC and use LTC’s I2C/SMBus/PMBus DongleDC1613A to connect to the board. LTpowerPlay allowsthe user to reconfigure the part on the fly and store theconfiguration in EEPROM, view telemetry of voltage, current,temperature and fault status.
