This reference design uses the UCC28180 continuous conduction mode (CCM) power factor correction (PFC) controller to generate 390-V and 1-kW output from a universal AC input. The UCC28880 converter is used as a bias supply in this design. Over 95% peak efficiency is achieved at 120-VAC and 60-Hz input and over 97% efficiency is achieved at 230-VAC and 50-Hz input.
