Totem Pole PFC is a high-efficiency bridgeless power factor Correction circuit. It is mainly used for platinum efficiency level AC/DC converter design. Figure 1-1 shows the totem pole PFC topology of this reference design. Q1 and Q2 of this circuit are high-speed SiC (silicon carbide) MOSFETs, and Q3 and Q4 are Si MOSFETs for AC line frequency synchronous rectification. This reference design is rated at 2.5kW. It uses the InventChip’s 650V 60mΩ SiC MOSFETs IV1Q06060T4 and the dedicated driver IC IVCR1401, which are used to drive the two SiC MOSFETs in the high speed bridge leg. The AC line frequency synchronous rectifier leg uses two Si MOSFET STY105NM50N. The reference design photo is shown in Figure 1-2.
